November Fuel Surcharge
November 1, 2007
Dear valued customer,
The price of crude oil has made a spectacular dash recently in the wrong direction. Crude is hovering in the $93.00 US per barrel territory. Low gasoline and distillate inventories are still due to a lack of refined product (maintenance issues, refining capacity, fires, pipe line issues, etc). Most of the increases many believe are due to
speculators, with many investors delving into the oil futures markets to make a fast dollar after the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage business in the USA. The surcharge will therefore increase to 21% effective November 1st. World oil prices are at record breaking highs and pose a significant challenge to our industry and the economy as a whole.
We will continue to evaluate the surcharge again at the end of every month. This is a very unpredictable atmosphere to do business, however these measures need to be taken to ensure we remain profitable. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
Best regards,
Greg Arndt
