Shell SuperRigs 2009
June 23, 2009
This past weekend at the Shell SuperRigs show, Jade's show trucks #199 and SubLime both competed in the bobtail class. Jade's Legacy 379, #199, claimed the 2nd place finish and their 389 Glider, known as SubLime, placed 4th in the same class. This was SubLime's first show and we believe that it faired quite well, having secured a coveted spot on the 2010 Shell SuperRigs calendar. For those of you waiting, we have finally added a full picture of the truck. Be sure to check it out on our Current Projects Page. We would like to thank all those involved in building and showing the truck and our sponsor, Shift Products, for providing the fenders. Make sure to check them out at www.shiftproducts.com Read More >

April Fuel Surcharge
April 7, 2009
Dear valued customer,
Crude oil is trading in the mid $40.00 to low $50.00 US per barrel range. Crude oil continues to be volatile moving up and down at all types of speculative news or reports. In the past several weeks the OPEC cartel’s desire to see higher prices is a factor driving crude prices higher once again, despite the poor economic outlook. The oil companies have allowed distillate prices to move lower as their margins on gasoline have improved and distillate inventories keep growing. There continues to be small price decreases in the distillate rack price, which over a period of weeks has had the effect of stabilizing the wholesale price. The surcharge for April will remain at 12%. The price changes up and down have more or less been neutral. Read More >

November Fuel Surcharge
November 1, 2008
Dear valued customer,
Crude oil is trading between $63.00 and $68.00 US per barrel this past week, after peaking over 16 weeks ago at over $145.00 US per barrel. Oil has been fluctuating quite a lot in the past 4 weeks with a definite downward trend. The continuing negative news since I last wrote this letter about a serious recession in the US and now around the world, is definitely effecting oil consumption and therefore lowering demand. This is lowering crude costs as demand drops. However, one shouldn’t be too optimistic vis a vis fuel pricing, as we are still somewhat concerned with the low refining capacity and utilization which is still causing a shortage of refined products, especially distillates in Read More >

October Fuel Surcharge
October 2, 2008
Crude closed at $106.00 US per barrel this past Friday, after peaking over 12 weeks ago at over $145.00 US per barrel. Oil has been fluctuating quite a lot in the past 4 weeks with records being set for one day price movements. The continuing negative news surrounding the North American economy and now recently in the past few weeks, the catastrophic collapse of much of the U.S. financial system, is cause for concern. The increasingly negative news, which is spilling out each day, and the unprecedented government intervention in the markets is enough to make anyone nervous about what Read More >

September 2, 2008
Dear valued customer,
Crude is at $118.00 US per barrel today, after peaking over 8 weeks ago at over $145.00 US per barrel. Oil was on a downward trend for nearly 7 weeks and many hoped it would continue. The price of crude dropped to nearly $110.00 per barrel at one point, however it has risen again steadily this past week. This is due to Hurricane Gustav heading towards Read More >

July Fuel Surcharge
July 3, 2008
Dear valued customer,
Crude oil continued to climb thru out June peaking at $142.00 US per barrel mark. Fortunately the trading range had settled in at around $132.00 to $137.00 US per barrel for most of June. Increasing gasoline inventories seem to be pushing the oil companies to increase margins on diesel fuel to replace lost margins on weak gasoline sales. Read More >

Shell Superrigs 2008
June 17, 2008
This year’s Shell Superrigs took place at the Iowa 80 truckstop in Walcott, IA. Jade was represented by three trucks again this year. Larry Dyck, Jonathan Dyck, and Andy Bannerman along with help from Dennis Durand and Bill Klassen, polished the three trucks to near perfection. All three trucks were well received in the judge’s booth with each truck placing. Truck #57 placed second in Tractor-Trailer Combination class. Both Trucks #199 and #188 competed in the Bobtail (tractor only) class and placed 3rd and 5th respectively. Congratulations guys and thanks to all those who helped make this happen. Read More >
June Fuel Surcharge
May 30, 2008
Crude oil continued to surge thru out May hitting the $135.00 US per barrel mark. The trading range has settled in at around $127.00 to $132.00 US per barrel. Increasing gasoline inventories seem to be pushing the oil companies to increase margins on diesel fuel to replace lost margins on weak gasoline sales. Even though a US economic recession should be reducing demand for oil, the opposite is happening because of China and other developing countries increased appetite for oil. The earthquake in China is also driving diesel fuel Read More >
Project #199 Debuting Innovative Products at MATS 2008 - update
April 7, 2008
Project truck #199 premiered Carbon Fiber front fenders at the 2008 Mid America Truck Show. The fenders are a result of Jade’s ongoing quest to combine form and function. Through the use of innovative materials, the fenders weigh approximately 2 lbs or 13 lbs lighter than stock Peterbilt fenders, yet they are similar in strength. As if showing the front fenders wasn’t good enough, Jonathan Dyck, the driver of the truck, picked up a third place finish in the New Truck Less than 75,000 Miles class. You can view pictures of Project #199 and the Carbon Fiber fenders under the Projects Page. Due to the interest shown at MATS 2008, Read More >

November Fuel Surcharge
November 1, 2007
Dear valued customer,
The price of crude oil has made a spectacular dash recently in the wrong direction. Crude is hovering in the $93.00 US per barrel territory. Low gasoline and distillate inventories are still due to a lack of refined product (maintenance issues, refining capacity, fires, pipe line issues, etc). Most of the increases many believe are due to Read More >
